Knights Sweep Rams With Big Wins

Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on the field on Friday, February 17th as they hosted the Rams of Columbia International University. Rain overnight and the morning of forced the games to be pushed back a few hours. The delay would not hurt the Knights as they would score four runs in the first inning on a Emma Raulerson RBI double and RBI singles from Alexis Cosgrove and Summer Lawrence. The Knights would score another two runs in the second inning on a Gabbie Haas RBI triple and a RBI single by Addison Renfroe to put the Knights up 6-0. The Knights would get one run in the third inning on a Georgia Bice Sacrifice fly and one run in the fourth inning on a Madisyn Riggins RBI single. The Knights would hold on to the 8-0 lead in the fifth inning to force the mercy rule. The Knights would continue to score in the second game of the series as they would put up three runs in the first inning with RBI singles from Renfroe and Cosgrove. Cosgrove would drive in another run in the third inning with a sacrifice fly to put the Knights up 4-0. The Knights would score four more runs in the fourth inning on singles from Renfroe, Raulerson, and Cosgrove and the Knights would hold an 8-0 lead going into the fifth inning as they would have the necessary runs to force the mercy rule. The Knights would surrender five runs in the fifth inning but would score four runs in the bottom half of the inning on a Morgan Windham three run home run and a Logan Blizzard sacrifice fly and the Knights would hold a 12-5 lead. The Knights would give up three more runs in the sixth inning but would hold on for the 12-8 win. The Knights will be back in action on Saturday, February 18th as they host the Cavaliers of Montreat College. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM EST.
