COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back on the pitch on Saturday as they hosted the Bearcats of Lander University. The Knights were looking for an upset victory as the Bearcats came into the match in 2nd place in the Peach Belt Conference standings.
The Knights faced an uphill battle from the start as the Bearcats offense controlled the ball for much of the match. The Bearcats quickly grabbed the lead in the 6th minute and added to it with goals in the 16th and 23rd minutes to take a 3-0 lead. The Knights were unable to get off any shots in the first half as the Bearcats led 3-0 at halftime. The second half was much of the same story as the Bearcats scored in the 47th minute and the 80th minute. The Knights were able to get off one shot in the second half by
Safiya Dean but the shot was blocked by the Bearcats defense. The Knights went on to lose the match 5-0. Holie Keefe made 12 saves on the day in goal.
The Knights will look ahead to Tuesday, October 28th as they play their final home match of the season as they face the Tigers of Edward Waters University at 5:30 PM EST.
