COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back in action on Wednesday as they hosted the Bobcats of Georgia College. The Knights were looking to break their string of close games as their last two matches have been decided by one goal.
The Knights looked poised to break the streak as they scored in the 14th minute off the foot of
Safiya Dean and assisted by
Nicole Beasley. The Knights defense was put to the test as they tried to hold onto the lead. The Bobcats attacked often and eventually got the ball in the back of the net in the 32nd minute to tie the match at 1-1. The Knights got off a couple more shots before the end of the half but both were blocked by the Bobcats and the match went into halftime tied 1-1. The Bobcats came out of the half on the attack and the Knights were unable to stop it as the Bobcats pulled ahead in the 52nd minute. The Knights had opportunities late in the second half with two shots that were blocked by the Bobcats defense and the Knights went on to lose 2-1. The Knights were out shot 15-6, 7-1 in shots on goal.
The Knights will be back on the pitch on Friday, October 10th as they host the Fillies of ABAC in a non-conference matchup. Kick off is scheduled for 1:30 PM EST.
