First Half Shooting Woes Prove Costly Against Hurricanes

Box Score AMERICUS, Ga. - The Knights were back in action on Wednesday as they headed to Americus, Georgia to take on the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern. The Knights were coming off of a loss to Valdosta State and looked to start Peach Belt Conference play off with a win.

The Knights sank the first basket of the game but the Hurricanes used an eight point run to take the 8-2 lead. The Knights closed the deficit down to a one point game but lost their shooting touch. The Hurricanes went on a 15 point run to take a 27-11 lead and the Knights faced an uphill battle to get back in the game. The Hurricanes continued to hit their shots and the Knights were down 52-28 at halftime. The Knights needed the Hurricanes to cool off if they were going to make an attempt at a comeback. The Hurricanes kept hitting their shots as the lead grew to 36 points with 15:23 remaining in the game. The Knights were able to cut the lead down to 23 points in the second half but the Hurricanes proved too much as the Knights lost 101-68. Joshua Robertson led the Knights with 16 points and six assists as Krishen Atwal added 13 points and Trevon Ragland added 12 points.

The Knights will be back in action on Saturday, December 6th as they face the Pacers of USC-Aiken. Tip off is scheduled for 3:30 PM EST.
