Knights Earn Sweep Over Eagles

Box Score GRACEVILLE, Fla. - The Knights hit the road on Tuesday as they headed to Graceville, Florida to take on the Eagles of Baptist University of Florida. The Knights defeated the Eagles on Saturday and were looking to complete the season sweep.

The Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first set but the Eagles scored the next five points to put the Knights behind 5-3. The Knights fell behind 13-6 but they scrapped their way back into the set as they tied the set at 22-22. The set went into extra points with the Eagles coming out on top 28-26.

The Knights fell behind again in the second set with the Eagles jumping out to a 4-1 lead but the Knights found their stride late in the set as they used a six point run to go to win the set 25-15.

The third set of the match was dominated by the Knights as they got the lead early and ran away with the set, winning 25-12.

The Knights jumped out to another 3-0 lead to start the fourth set but the Eagles climbed back into the set as the set remained close throughout and the Eagles came out on top 25-23.

The match came down to the fifth and final set. Another 3-0 start for the Knights gave them an early lead but the Eagles tied the set at 3-3. The Knights found themselves down by three points but used a five point run to take the lead and never trailed again as they won the set 15-12 and won the match 3-2.

Graysen Lallier led the Knights with 13 kills as McCall Wolf (11 kills) and Ellie Johnson (10 kills) both reached double digits. Aubrie Beard led the way with 26 assists with Johnson adding 18 assists. Paige Collier had 29 digs to lead the way with Paisley Ferguson adding 26 digs.

The Knights will head back out on the road on Friday, September 26th as they travel to Augusta, Georgia for a tri-match against Augusta University and the University of Mount Olive. Tip off is scheduled for 3 PM EST.
