MACON, Ga. - The Knights were back on their home court on Saturday as they hosted the Bearcats of Lander University. The Knights were coming off of a two losses on Friday to Augusta University and University of Mount Olive and were hoping that home court advantage would come into play to bring them their first conference win.

The Knights got off to a slow start in the first set as the Bearcats scored the first six points of the set and the Knights seemed flustered as the Bearcats pulled away to win the set 25-9.

The Knights found their footing in the second set as they grabbed an early 3-2 lead. The Knights and Bearcats traded points before the Bearcats used some multi-point runs to inch ahead. The Knights fought back to try and reclaim the lead but the Bearcats held them back and the Knights lost the set 25-18.

The third set was the best start for the Knights on the day as they quickly jumped ahead 8-3. After trading points with the Bearcats, the Knights held a 12-6 lead but the Bearcats scored six straight points to tie the set at 12-12. Another five point run for the Bearcats put the Knights behind 17-13 and the Knights could only get to within three points as they lost the set 25-21.

Ellie Johnson led the Knights with six kills, Aubrie Beard led with 11 assists, and Yanelis Rodriguez and Ellie Johnson each had eight digs to lead the team.

The Knights return to their home court on Friday, October 3rd when they host the Saints of Flagler College (6-9). Tip off is scheduled for 6 PM EST.
