COCHRAN, Ga. – The Knights were in action on Saturday, February 28th as they finished off the regular season against the Bearcats of Lander University. The Knights were on a three game losing streak while the Bearcats were trying to end their own losing streak.

Game Recap

The Knights got out to an early 7-0 lead but the Bearcats cut the lead down to two points. The Knights pushed their lead back out to six points before ending the first quarter up four points. The Bearcats closed to within one point in the second quarter but the Knights answered back and extended their lead to five points as they led 29-24 at halftime.

The Knights controlled the game in the third quarter as they pulled away from the Bearcats and led by 13 points at the end of the quarter. The Bearcats attempted to make a comeback as they cut the lead down to four points in the fourth quarter but the Knights found a way to come away with the 61-54 win.

Notable Performances

Mauryah Jones led the Knights with 19 points as Milanni Abdus-Salaam scored 12 points. Kristen Foglia scored six points to set a new freshman single-season scoring record.

What's Up Next

The Knights will head to Augusta, Georgia as the 5-seed in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament and take on the 4-seed Jaguars of Augusta University. Tip off is TBA.
