ALBANY, Ga. - The Knights were back on the pitch on Saturday against the Golden Rams of Albany State University. The Knights were coming off of a decisive win over ABAC on Friday and were looking for another win to secure three points in the Peach Belt standings.
The Knights started off the match with a number of shots but none found the net. The Knights continued to attack the Golden Rams and finally scored in the 24th minute with a shot from
Safiya Dean as they went up 1-0. The Knights kept their attack up as they continued to fire shot after shot but went into the halftime break still up 1-0. The attack did not stop after halftime as they kept firing shots at the Golden Rams. The Golden Rams started to find some shots in the second half and a penalty kick in the 72nd minute found the net to tie the match at 1-1. Both teams had shots late in the second half but neither team could pull ahead as the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The Knights out shot the Golden Rams 34-17, 17-10 in shots on goal as
Hollie Keefe made nine saves on the night.
The Knights will be back on the pitch on Tuesday, October 14th as they head to Pensacola, Florida to face the 6th-ranked Argonauts of the University of West Florida. Kick off is scheduled for 5 PM CST.
